Darling's Guest House, close to the centre but quiet and peaceful, perfect for a restful night, offers books and games for quiet nights in, an outside table for aperitifs, comfortable beds, everything you need for a short or long stay. This lively artists' village, with its imposing museum dedicated to the life of the writer Colette and its magnificent birthplace offering guided tours, is also home to several restaurants, a fabulous bar with live music and pizzas, beautiful boutiques selling carefully selected jewellery, grocery shops, a large supermarket, florists, a wine cellar, galleries, artists' studios and a lively Wednesday morning market selling local produce.
La Poéterie, a splendid artists' village, regularly hosts open-air music concerts, theatre, dance, games evenings, catering and visual arts festivals. Saint Sauveur en Puisaye really is “the place to be”; you won't want to leave. But if you decide to leave this friendly village steeped in history, you'll be on the doorstep of beautiful countryside and the Château de Guédelon, the animal park, Accrobranche, the Lac du Bourdon, with its waterside restaurants where you can swim, sail and picnic, as well as some of the most beautiful walks through the forests and lakes of this jewel of Burgundy.
